QR Code Enforcement Amnesty - Victorian Workplaces

As you may be aware there is a QR code enforcement amnesty until 11.59PM Thursday 24 June 2021 for businesses that weren't previously required to use the Services Vic App https://www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au/about-victorian-government-qr-code-service.

Clause 6(6) of the Workplace Directions (32) provides that employers must keep a record of all persons who attend Work Premises. https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/sites/default/files/documents/202106/Workplace-Directions-%28No-32%29-10-June-2021.pdf

All workplaces will be required to use the free Victorian Government QR Code Service, subject to limited exceptions. This is to ensure that in the case of a positive case visiting the workplace, contact tracers can simply and rapidly access the details of everyone who was there at the same time and let them know they have been exposed to a positive case and what actions they need to take. Some workplaces will need time to impose this new requirement. For this reason there is a two-week enforcement amnesty.

The amnesty only applies to workplaces that have not previously been mandated to use the Services Victoria app for record keeping.
